Privacy Policy for SocialAuto

Last updated: March 2026

1. Introduction

SocialAuto ("we", "our", or "us") is a Windows desktop application designed to help users automate and manage their social media publishing workflows locally. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and process information when you use the SocialAuto application.

2. How SocialAuto Works Locally

SocialAuto is a locally executed desktop application. By default, your media files, configurations, and scheduled queue are processed and stored directly on your computer. SocialAuto does not transmit your personal videos, configuration files, or authentication tokens to developer-operated cloud databases or centralized servers.

3. Third-Party Account Connections

To provide its core functionality, SocialAuto allows you to connect your accounts on third-party platforms (including TikTok, YouTube, Meta). When you connect these accounts:

  • SocialAuto fetches and stores secure API access tokens locally on your machine.
  • SocialAuto communicates directly with the official APIs of these third-party platforms to perform tasks you explicitly request, such as fetching your profile information (to display in the app) and uploading or publishing your selected media files.
  • Your use of these third-party integrations is subject to the privacy policies of the respective platforms.

4. Information Processed

  • Authentication Data: OAuth tokens required to publish on your behalf are stored locally on your device.
  • Media Files: Videos and images processed by the app remain on your local disk until they are uploaded to the connected platforms according to your schedule.
  • Local Logs: SocialAuto generates local system logs (e.g., error logs and upload statuses) on your computer for troubleshooting purposes.

5. User Controls and Revocation

You retain full control over your connected accounts. You can disconnect your social media accounts and delete local authentication tokens at any time through the SocialAuto application settings, or by revoking access directly in your third-party platform account settings (e.g., in your TikTok or Google Security settings).

6. Data Security

We treat your data configurations securely by keeping them on your local storage. However, please note that local data security depends on the overall security of your operating system and device. We do not apply independent encryption to token files stored locally unless otherwise specified in your settings.
